DJ
COMPUTERS
will diagnose your desktop and notebook/laptop problems for a flat $35 fee.
DJ also has a seniors, active
military, and St. Joeseph Medical Center employee discount on services
performed. It's
interesting to me how companies are charging $75 and more to diagnose systems and can't
get it right even for that kind of money. Take a look at this video
and you will see what I
mean. DJ also
has 12 years of service/repair experience in this fast paced industry.
Whether you have a cracked screen on your notebook
or a virus on your desktop, DJ has the expertise to take care of these
and most any other problem you are faced with, at a price that is
fair. I also like to talk to about the larger picture in your
computing world and
try to offer advice on making computer life easier, safer,
and more productive
if I can. This is the type of service I feel is important today,
especially with all the different types of virus's, other malware, and
the threat of potential information hyjackers.
The
main computer problems that people are experiencing and bringing in
today would
definately be malware infections of some kind or another. Malware is
simply a broad term for computer virus's, spyware, trojan horses,
worms, root kits, dishonest adware, and other malicious unwanted
software or programs. Usually
by the time a machine gets to me though, it has a
lot
more
than just one or two small instances of something listed above. However
making these systems run better
and faster than
even back when they were brand new is not a major operation for me
to accomplish after doing it hundreds of times
and being
a certified perfectionist. My main objective today is making sure that
my
customers
understand they do have some options when it comes to operating
systems, other software,
and their security/privacy. Taking time to explain some appropriate
measures they can take with their Microsoft
windows computers once they get their system back home or to their
office, so they hopefully won't be needing
to bring it back in after a few months with the same or
similar issues.
The Internet is totally out of control and is as frustrating
as
driving Meridian Street on South Hill of Puyallup. Meridian is sooo
beyond terrible and a pain in the neck to drive, it's almost funny.
Anyway, I am talking about all
the corruption from the Internet bad
guys
installing viruses,
adware, spyware, stealing
your private information, and turning your machine into a Zombie,
spamming all your friends and family. The way around this giant of a
problem for
my family, our business, and millions of other individuals, schools,
government agencies, small and large businesses like the New York
Stock Exchange and NASA are using the Linux operating system instead of
Windows. In fact, Google has mandated that it's employees must use
either Linux or the Apple Macintosh operating system on any and all of
their desktop or notebook computers they use for work, for just the
reasons I have been talking about. The
advantages are quite numerous including the lack of problems
described above and not having your computer slow to a crawl like
I see being brought in time after time. Linux and Open Source
software
is great. Two of the most well known are Firefox and Libre Office.
It's just a matter of getting used to programs with different names to
accomplish the same things you have been doing all along on Windows XP,
Vista or 7.
For example, you would use Firefox, or Google Chrome as a Web browser
instead of Internet Explorer. Using Libre Office or Google Apps, which
is compatible at school or work with Microsoft Office.
Using Linux can just flat out
make using a computer fun
again as programs just fly along at speeds you think they should have
been doing all along. Much faster start up/shutdown times, no blue
screens of death, no defragging hard drives. There are easy to get
started guides for getting the basics down and tons of
resources
available including personal instruction by me anytime you want.
DJ CCOMPUTERS is the only company in our area,
that I am aware of, that specializes in Linux computers for everyday
people/families/SOHO. Again, it's all about the money, and most
computer sales and service companies need Microsoft Windows and their
other products like MS Office, for their bottom line. I can
Backup and save all of your data, pictures,
music, etc. from your existing system. Next, remove Microsoft Windows
and
install a customized version of Linux to fit you and your needs. Then
put all your Pictures, etc. back
onto your new
system. Provide you with a multitude of easy to follow documentation
and technical support to get you off and running. If you do have a
Microsoft Windows only program that you absolutely have to run for
yourself
or your business I can go over with you how this can be handled as
well. Just
give
a call if you would like a demonstration and/or more information on how
this, and/or
other scenarios might
work for you, your family, home office, or small business.
Come
by for coffee and pickup a "Live" CD that let's you try out
and actually use Linux on your own computer without
installing anything to your hard drive.
